PATTI McCORMAC, veteran crime reporter, gave us the scoop on real homicide reporting, plus the truth versus “the story.” Take note of the beautiful inlaid door behind Patti, just one of the PIERPONT INN’s architectural details in Ventura, California.

BOMBS AWAY! A big thank you to Ed Nordskog, foremost bomb and arson expert, who tipped me onto THRILLER SCHOOL. Ed kicked off TS with a talk and here he is pictured with his own book TORCHERED MINDS.

  3. Hi Charles! The guns weren’t loaded and lots of care went into safety supervision. That being said, a hands-on gun panel is most interesting!

  6. Well, if you’re overdue for a trip across the pond, it’s all happening again in November. As you probably already know, Oxford is a beautiful, university town many parts historically preserved from the old days. It’s like a trip back in time. I would love to go.

  7. WOW! And a great time was had by all attending. If I was into crime writing seriously and had some moolah, I would be in Oxford in November.

  8. Hey Oscar, I understand you’re more of a western writer, although there’s lots of crime and mystery going on in the average western. Which leads me to ponder: Is there such a thing as a western writing school? Hmmm, what a great idea…. What do you think? EA
